About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Criminology Teacher to join our outstanding team in Bedfordshire from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator with a strong interest in criminology to inspire students at the secondary level and beyond.
As a Criminology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to a range of students, developing their understanding of the criminal justice system, criminological theory, and real-world applications. You will have the chance to inspire the next generation of criminologists while working in a collaborative and supportive academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Criminology to students, ensuring that all lessons meet the educational needs of individuals and groups.
Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to engage with the subject matter.
Participate in the department's curriculum development and contribute to broader school activities and events.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of criminology topics, research, and developments to ensure curriculum relevance.
Work closely with colleagues and senior staff to ensure the continued academic success and wellbeing of students.
Key Requirements:
A degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
Proven experience teaching criminology at the secondary or post-16 level, though newly qualified teachers with a strong passion for the subject are also encouraged to apply.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Knowledge of current educational policies and practices in criminology and social sciences.
