About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Criminology Teacher to join our outstanding team in Bedfordshire from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator with a strong interest in criminology to inspire students at the secondary level and beyond.

As a Criminology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to a range of students, developing their understanding of the criminal justice system, criminological theory, and real-world applications. You will have the chance to inspire the next generation of criminologists while working in a collaborative and supportive academic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Criminology to students, ensuring that all lessons meet the educational needs of individuals and groups.

  • Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to engage with the subject matter.

  • Participate in the department's curriculum development and contribute to broader school activities and events.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of criminology topics, research, and developments to ensure curriculum relevance.

  • Work closely with colleagues and senior staff to ensure the continued academic success and wellbeing of students.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

  • Proven experience teaching criminology at the secondary or post-16 level, though newly qualified teachers with a strong passion for the subject are also encouraged to apply.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

  • Knowledge of current educational policies and practices in criminology and social sciences.

  • A commitment to continuous professional development and improvement.
