Our arts department plays a key role in fostering creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking, and we are now seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama Teacher to join our passionate team.

The Role:
As a Drama Teacher at our school, you will have the exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students through the power of performance. You will teach a range of drama and theatre studies courses, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, nurturing students’ skills in acting, directing, and understanding the theory behind drama. Your innovative teaching methods will encourage students to explore their creative potential while helping them build confidence and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and engaging drama lessons in line with the curriculum.

  • Encourage student participation in extra-curricular drama activities, such as school productions and workshops.

  • Support students in developing their performance and theatre skills, both individually and as part of a group.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel confident to express themselves.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Collaborate with other departments and colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning.

  • Be a positive role model, inspiring students to develop a passion for drama and the arts.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A passion for drama and the performing arts, with the ability to inspire and engage students.

  • Experience teaching drama to secondary school students, preferably at Key Stage 3 and 4.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience teaching drama at Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

  • A background in directing or producing school productions.

  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in drama education.
