About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Sociology Teacher to join our dynamic department at a thriving secondary school in Cambridgeshire. As a Sociology Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum, preparing students for their GCSE and A-Level exams. The successful candidate will be committed to creating a positive learning environment, engaging students, and promoting a passion for Sociology.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging Sociology lessons across Key Stage 4 and 5.
Plan and prepare schemes of work and lessons in line with the curriculum.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
Participate in departmental meetings, school-wide events, and professional development opportunities.
Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians to support student learning.
Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
A strong background in Sociology, with a degree in the subject or related field.
Experience teaching Sociology at Key Stage 4 and 5 (GCSE and A-Level).
Passionate about the subject and committed to inspiring students.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
