Role Description: We are looking for a passionate and motivated Media Studies teacher to deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students. The successful candidate will be committed to helping students develop critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as fostering their creativity through practical media projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing and evolving department that places a strong emphasis on both academic achievement and creative expression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Media Studies to Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students (GCSE and A Level).

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

  • Support students in developing a deep understanding of media theories, practices, and technologies.

  • Encourage students to express themselves creatively through various media formats, including film, television, digital media, and print.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to promote continuous improvement.

  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and ensure it remains relevant and innovative.

  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and departmental meetings.

Person Specification:

  • A degree in Media Studies, Media Production, or a related subject.

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).

  • Experience teaching Media Studies at GCSE and A Level (preferred but not essential).

  • Passionate about media education and keeping up with industry trends.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities.

  • A strong team player with a collaborative approach to teaching.
