As we continue to expand and inspire the next generation of artists, we are looking for a passionate and committed Art Teacher to join our dedicated team starting in September 2025.
Role Overview:
As an Art Teacher at our school, you will have the exciting opportunity to teach a range of age groups, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, inspiring students to explore their creativity through both practical and theoretical lessons. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that encourage students to develop their skills, expand their artistic horizons, and nurture their artistic voices. You will have the support of a collaborative, innovative team of staff, and contribute to the school’s commitment to academic success and artistic development.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in a variety of artistic disciplines, including but not limited to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and digital media.
Foster a stimulating learning environment where students can develop technical skills, creativity, and critical thinking.
Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their work and achieve their full potential.
Support students in their personal and artistic development, including preparing portfolios for GCSE and A-level coursework.
Contribute to the development of the curriculum and enrichment activities within the department.
Participate in school events, exhibitions, and art-related extracurricular activities.
Support students’ progress and well-being through regular communication with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Art and Design.
Experience teaching Art at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience is desirable).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs.
A creative, flexible approach to teaching and learning.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Desirable Skills:
Experience teaching A-level Art and Design.
A background or interest in art-related extracurricular activities.
Strong knowledge of digital art, photography, or graphic design.
