Position: Secondary Dance Teacher

Role Overview:
As a Secondary Dance Teacher, you will deliver inspiring and engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will have the opportunity to develop students' technical skills and help them express themselves through various dance styles. You will contribute to the vibrant school community, building confidence and encouraging students to take pride in their artistic achievements.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality dance lessons to secondary school students (KS3 & KS4).
Develop and implement dynamic and engaging lesson plans that foster creativity and technical skill.
Lead extracurricular dance activities and performances, encouraging students to participate in school productions.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to help students improve.
Collaborate with the Performing Arts department and other staff members to create a well-rounded and inclusive arts curriculum.
Support students in preparing for GCSE Dance examinations, as well as other opportunities for dance progression.
Participate in school events, including performances, parent evenings, and staff meetings.
Person Specification:
Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching dance at Key Stage 3 & 4 (GCSE Dance experience is desirable).
A passion for dance education and a commitment to encouraging student growth.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Enthusiastic, positive, and driven to make a difference in students’ lives.
Experience with choreography and knowledge of a range of dance styles is essential.
