Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.

  • Plan and implement engaging lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.

  • Encourage a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking in students.

  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support their academic development.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive curriculum and share best practices.

  • Support students in preparing for examinations, particularly GCSEs and A-levels.

  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities, such as literary clubs or events, to promote a vibrant English culture within the school.

Key Requirements:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS).

  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
