About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology & Textiles Teacher to join our dynamic Design & Technology department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring educator to make a real impact on students’ learning and creativity. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, fostering a passion for food technology and textiles, and supporting students in developing practical and theoretical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Food Technology and Textiles across Key Stages 3 and 4.

  • Inspire and challenge students of all abilities to achieve their full potential.

  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and learning.

  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.

  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback to students, ensuring progress and achievement.

  • Support the department in curriculum development and extracurricular activities.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in practical lessons.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A degree in Food Technology, Textiles, or a related subject.

  • Experience teaching Food Technology and Textiles at secondary level is desirable.

  • A passion for the subject and a commitment to inspiring young learners.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.

  • A proactive and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
